Michael Conn has been a teacher at Accent Music, Inc. for over a decade. As a long time member of the Accent community, he has served as a judge for the annual Guitar Solo Contest for 4 years.
He studied guitar and theory with accomplished local musicians Gary Vernon and Nick Bucci. He also named the following artists as his biggest musical influences: Eric Johnson, Richie Kotzen, Wayne Krantz, Marco Sfogli, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Frank Gambale, Marty Friedman, Steve Vai, and John Petrucci.
Michael accepts beginners to advanced players and teaches his students guitar technique and ear training. As a song writer, he also enjoys teaching compositional techniques such as lyric management, melody construction, chordal melody creation, song writing, transcribing, and music theory. He teaches many genres including classical, jazz, rock, and blues.
His students have gone on to play in college bands and participate in local music.
