Sharon High has been teaching flute and piano in the Newark and Wilmington, DE area since 1980. She is a native Delawarean who graduated from Thomas McKean H.S. and the University of Delaware. She studied under Patricia Holderman and Eileen Grycky and earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree. For many years she was the principal flute and piccolo player with the Newark Symphony Orchestra. She most recently joined the First State Flute Choir.
Playing popular music as a soloist or with an accompaniment, she has provided enrichment activities at Sunrise Senior Living and other assisted living facilities in the Wilmington area. Sharon often writes her own flute parts or plays by memory.
Lessons include theory, melodic dictation, and sight-reading. Sharon welcomes students of all ages. The gift of music lasts a lifetime, let's start together!
